Gotta catch’em all this Christmas with this Pokémon limited-edition Advent calendar!
There’s plenty of reasons to get excited about the New Year in Japan. It’s the country’s most important holiday, and families get together to share delicious osechi ryori and enjoy the New Year specials on TV. You’ll also see people frantically reserving online or getting up at the crack of dawn to get their hands on a ‘fukubukuro’.
These New Year lucky bags are a Japanese tradition which many stores participate in, from small independent shops, to world-famous brands. Buying one of these bags, filled with random goods, allows the buyer to get a load of awesome stuff at a much lower price than usual, as a sort of year-end gift to customers.
If you happen to love both Pokemon and doughnuts, you simply have to try to catch a fukubukuro from Mister Donut this year, which combines these two wonderful concepts. Their lucky bags contain doughnut vouchers and exclusive Pokemon merchandise.
There’s three bags to choose from which are packed with more and more goodies as they get more pricey. The 2400 yen option contains a card worth 20 doughnuts, a tote bag, a calendar, a memo pad, and a hand towel.
The merchandise designs are an adorable mix of Pokemon and doughnut motifs.
If you go for the next bag it’ll set you back 3600 yen, but it will also lavish you with a card worth 30 doughnuts, all the merchandise included in the last bag, plus a clear file and a schedule book.
If you shell out 5900 yen you can treat yourself to 50 doughnuts with the card, all the merchandise mentioned up until now, and a full on bath towel.
These bags can be bought in branches of Mister Donut all over Japan, starting from 26th December. They will be on sale until all available bags in store have run out, so you’ll have to be quick!
