If you’re taking a stroll in Niigata and ran into these giant straw dinosaurs, you might think local farmers are being a bit overzealous with their scarecrow attempts. However, these impressive straw behemoths are actually the creative product of rice harvest leftovers.
Art Student Amy Goda is stirring up some internet buzz with her "wara-art" ("wara" means straw), which has brought extra eyes to the "Wara-matsuri" (Wara Festival). While the festival is over, these artsy creatures will be on display until November 1st, in Uwasekigata Park.
