A 1,400-year-old ginkgo tree growing next to the Gu Guanyin Buddhist Temple in China has turned the ground around it into a golden carpet, attracting visitors from all over the country.
Said to have been planted by Emperor Taizong of Tang, this ancient tree stands in a temple built in the Zhongnan Mountains. The golden leaves have been falling since mid-November, and are an absolutely breathtaking sight.
