It is without a doubt that Howl’s Moving Castle is one of Hayao Miyazaki’s most iconic films, and one fan is paying tribute in the most heartwarming way.
Taiwanese cosplayer Hizuki Aya, also known as Yao, is no stranger to holding elaborate photoshoots with other cosplayers. One of Aya’s most recent photoshoots, however, featured a very special guest — grandma.
Aya’s grandmother cosplayed as none other than Sophie, transforming into a beautiful version of the animated character while Aya became an equally exquisite version of Howl. Posing in a cozy-looking room that immediately brings us back inside Howl’s castle, nothing in the photos suggest that grandma is not a born natural. She smiles effortlessly into the camera, and the two bring forth a special kind of warmth that can only be captured through the real-life bond that they possess.
Even Calcifer makes an appearance!
Aya’s grandmother is proof that all it takes is a special bond with a loved one to breathe magic into a photoshoot, and that it’s never too late to dabble in a little cosplay. Because seriously, they both look pretty darn amazing.
