Mother’s Day is coming up, and what better way to show your gratitude than with a beautiful bento?
Japanese seafood restaurant Hokkaidou in Aichi Prefecture has artfully combined two things many of our moms love — food and flowers. Sold for one week only from May 8th to the 15th, this flower bouquet bowl is a delicious and stunning flower field in a box.

So that our mothers can have a little bit of everything, the bento is filled with bite-sized portions of 9 ingredients sitting atop small mounds of rice. The different ingredients are red caviar (salmon roe), crab, sea urchin, tuna, seafood mix, shrimp tempura, and three combinations of flowers and seafood.
Not only is this special bento absolutely mouthwatering, but it is an edible representation of Aichi Prefecture’s Higashi Mikawa city, commonly known as the “flower city.” What’s more, only the best Hokkaido ingredients are used to express the beauty of this famous city.

The flower bouquet bowl will be available from May 8th to the 15th at Hokkaidou for 3,000 yen (28.25 USD). But beware: only five of these bento will be made each day, so if this looks like the perfect gift for Mother’s Day, make sure you reserve one before they become unavailable.
