As made clear by the sheer variety of super realistic food samples displayed at Japanese restaurants, you know you can leave it to the Japanese to recreate food in plastic form for whatever possible reason. And though they don’t specialize in making food samples, Japanese candle and incense maker Kameyama is now giving coffee-lovers the chance to enjoy the pleasant aroma of a glass of iced joe with their new Iced Coffee Candle.

This Iced Coffee Candle is shaped of a little glass cup, has the fragrant smell of coffee, and even contains ice cubes. It’s made so that the “coffee” melts as the candle burns, making it appear as though somebody is slowly taking sips out of it. One candle will burn for 15 hours, allowing you to get a generous amount of coffee breaks whenever you want.

If you’re not crazy about coffee, though, you can still get other realistic food candles for your amusement. They include beer, edamame, tea, sake, sweets, and different types of food that will deliciously turn your space into a calming, candle-lit room.

These whimsical candles were actually made by Kameyama to be used as offerings for ancestors during obon, an annual Japanese Buddhist event in August during which the spirits of ancestors are remembered and honored. This particular food series is based on all the things our ancestors may have enjoyed when they were alive, such as a refreshing pint of beer after work or a tasty bento packed by a loved one.
Whether as offerings or a special addition to your candle collection, you can purchase these new kinds of candles online at candle house.
