Usually the site of a mouse is enough to send people running in squeamish panic, but you can understand why Japanese Twitter user @1651_p stopped and took out his camera when they saw this determined little rodent.

@1651_p posted this video of a mouse that found itself endlessly trying to go down an ascending escalator. While many are understandably appreciating how cute this eternal hamster wheel and struggle may be, there is a bit of concern for the mouse, who may just be trying to get home against its better judgement. Fortunately, @1651_p writes that they had "the station staff stop the escalator, and the mouse was safely able to get back home."

We imagine the return trip will be up the "down" escalator.
