Japanese artists have recently been fusing the traditional art of woodblock printing with pop culture, trying in their own ways to reintroduce the historical art form into the lives of the younger generation. From legendary rock bands like KISS and Iron Maiden to Marvel’s Civil War, many modern cultural icons have come to be depicted on woodblock prints and ukiyo-e art.
Making a place for its own among the artistic unions of traditional and modern is Japanese manga series One Piece. Featuring illustrations drawn specifically for this special collection, you’ll see the familiar faces of Zoro, Law, Sabo, Ace, and Luffy, with Sanji newly joining in the bunch.

Like previous works from the One Piece woodblock print collection, the Sanji art will be presented on a sheet of high-quality handmade washi (traditional Japanese paper); more specifically, Sekishu Banshi washi paper, one of UNESCO’s intangible cultural heritage from Shimane Prefecture.
200 of the Sanji woodblock print will be sold, each with a serial number. They can be purchased online for 18,900 yen (177.30 USD), alongside what's left of the earlier woodblock prints of other One Piece characters. If you see your favorite, get one before it's all gone!
