Tokyo-based French anime artist Thomas Romain (Symphogear, Space Dandy, Aria, Macross Delta, and Basquash!) makes the best of his profession and his father-and-son play time by taking the sketches drawn by his two sons and applying his craft to turn them into amazingly illustrated anime characters. While some have commented that they feel this upstages the original drawings, it's a collaborative effort that the children seem to be happily providing creative fuel for with very imaginative sketches. Romain and his sons call it the "Father and Sons Design Workshop Illustrations", and hope to put it all together in one collection one day. Here's a quick detailing of the process.
Here is an updated batch of "Father and Sons Design Workshop Illustrations", showing off yet again not only the skills Romain uses in his profession, but just how far reaching the creative minds of children can be, and perhaps a glimpse of what they see in those drawings in their mind's eye. You can check out our previously covered collections at part 1, part 2, and part 3. You can also follow Romain and his work on Instagram and Twitter. The project seems to have helped his eldest son find some motivation, who proclaims he wants to be an animator one day better than his father. Romain was surprised at this, saying that up until now his son had never said he wanted to work!
