It's always heartwarming to see a parent support their child's passion, but going the extra mile and showing your kids just how beautiful their creativity can really be is an extra mile that any father should try to go. That's exactly what Tokyo-based French anime artist Thomas Romain (Symphogear, Space Dandy, Aria, Macross Delta, and Basquash!) did in an inspiring collaborative series of art called Father and Sons Illustrations. Romain takes character doodles created by his two sons, and transforms them into badass anime characters with an artistic fatherly uplift.
Magic Knights, Eye Monsters, and even Steampunk Doctors all turned into professional illustrations, but born from the budding creativity of children (10 and 8 years old). Romain aims to continue this series, no doubt to the delight of his children, who may just be inspired to be artists of their own. Romain says that one day he hopes to put them all together in a picture book!
