Ghibli Museum’s New Exhibit Extravaganza Will Let Adults Ride The Catbus This Summer

A new short animation entitled Boro the Caterpillar will be shown exclusively at the Studio Ghibli museum in Mitaka.
The screening will begin from 21st March 2018 onwards with an accompanying exhibit of related items.
This short will be acclaimed director Hayao Miyazaki’s first work released since The Wind Rises in 2013. According to the press release, Miyazaki has been sitting on this idea for a while. The film's central idea is to portray the world through an insect’s eyes.
The 14 minute animation centres around Boro, a caterpillar. We follow him from when he is born, as he steps out into the big wide world, encountering both friends and foes.
For tourists, the Studio Ghibli Museum is easily accessible from central Tokyo and worth a visit anyway for all the cool regular exhibitions. Mitaka station is under 20 minutes away from Shinjuku station on the Chuo line. There is a bus schedule for Mitaka station to the museum on the website.
