BTS recently celebrated the anniversary of their debut in Japan. Since that time four years ago, the world’s favourite K-pop group have been in and out the country doing various concerts and promotional activities.
The members are known for their frequent social media updates (it even won them Top Social Artist at the Billboard Music Awards), so when they’re in Japan you can be sure there will be a few cheeky snaps of their sightseeing activities. Eagle-eyed ARMYs (the collective name for BTS fans) are quick to analyse the photos and attempt to work out exactly where the boys went.
Visiting the same spots as your idols isn’t just for fans with slightly stalkerish tendencies. Being international stars means the group members probably know where the good food and cool scenery is, so a tweet or selfie can easily be seen as an inadvertent recommendation. Not to mention their social media prowess which points us to some undeniably Instagrammable places in Tokyo.
If you live in the area or are just visiting, here’s 6 spots including restaurants, stores and attractions that BTS went to in Tokyo that you can also go to. Let’s get it!
BTS Spots in Harajuku/Omotesando
Red Rock
This trendy spot was seen in Jungkook’s G.C.F in Tokyo video in which he and Jimin enjoyed a private trip to Japan’s capital. The beef bowl restaurant turns up at about 2 minutes into the video.
The restaurant is a chain called Red Rock which serves roast beef bowls and steak bowls among other things. The Harajuku venue can get particularly busy at weekends so if you just want to try the food and don’t particularly care about visiting the exact same spot as the boys, you can try the Takadanobaba branch instead. They also have restaurants in Osaka and Kyoto.

Visvim (Little Cloud Coffee)
BTS are almost as known for their fashion as their music, in the aforementioned G.C.F video, the pair visit designer brand stores in Omotesando. But even if you’re not as rich as a K-pop megastar you can still enjoy a taste of the high-life by visiting Little Cloud Coffee inside clothing store Visvim. RM posted a photo taken inside the store on Twitter this year, while in Japan for fan meetings. Some fans have already made pilgrimages to the store to take the same photo as the BTS leader.
The coffee shop has a stylish outdoor seating area with a view of the bustling main street of Omotesando, the perfect place to grab a caffeinated beverage in the summer after a tiring day of shopping.

BTS Approved Attractions in Roppongi
Tokyo Tower
Even if you’ve already written Tokyo Tower off as cliched and overpriced, just take a look at V frolicking around the place earlier this year. You could have as much fun as he did!
The iconic red and white Tokyo Tower is not too far from Roppongi and for 900 yen you can ascend to the main deck to observe the mega-city from above.
Judging from this video, V went while there was a projection mapping event on. Although that event has already finished, this month it seems there’s illuminations taking place, so you can take similarly cute photos and videos.

Ichiran Ramen
This popular ramen joint champions solitary dining with individual booths for each person, even if you go in a group. According to Deokutour, a Twitter user who documents places all over the world that BTS has visited, the troupe ate at the Roppongi branch of Ichiran.
Here, Worldwide Handsome Jin helpfully demonstrates all the selfie potential of the one-person booths.

Must Visit Places For ARMY in Yokohama Area
Shin-Yokohama Ramen Museum
As you can see in this photo shared by the Ramen Museum, all members of the group visited this Yokohama tourist attraction back in 2015, and you can too!
At this ‘food themed amusement park’ you can sample ramen from all over Japan without leaving the Greater Tokyo area. There’s even vegetarian and non-pork options, so anyone can do their own ‘Eat Jin’ style ramen mukbang.
Address: 222-0033 Yokohama, Kohoku, Shinyokohama 2-14-21

Panda Express
Okay I’m pretty sure BTS have never actually been to this food court in a Kawasaki shopping mall (probably), but the members' love for Panda Express is well documented. If you’re from a country that doesn’t have Panda Express, your trip to Tokyo could be a chance to see why they proclaim their love for the Chinese take-out style chain every time they promote in the States.
The menu isn’t exactly the same as in America, but their most famous dish, orange chicken is very much available for curious ARMYs to sample.
