Here in Japan, with the official start of spring just around the corner, many people's thoughts are turning to cherry blossoms.
In Osaka, the beautiful pink sakura flowers are forecast to bloom in the week between March 25th and April 1st, so anticipation is high. Featuring very spring-like ingredients such as sakura ice cream, cherries and sakura gelee, this parfait strikes just the right balance between sweetness and freshness. Break the meringue layer and sprinkle caramel chips to enhance the textures.

On the other hand, if you prefer your sakura sipped and savored in a cocktail, stroll over to the Ceres Bar (also on the 2nd floor) and try this elegant sakura cocktail:

Made with a base of white wine and lightly sweet sakura liqueur, this cocktail also features orange liqueur and an accent of strawberry syrup to create just the right sakura color. The cocktail is made very special with the addition of Belvedere vodka.
