Floresta is a Japanese chain which specialises in organic doughnuts, and became known for their adorable animal-shaped creations. It started as a small company based in Nara, and grew branches throughout the country thanks to their popular Instagrammable treats.
As purveyors of sweet, animal-themed doughnuts, they were the perfect choice for an ongoing collaboration with Sanrio, the company behind cute characters such as Hello Kitty and My Melody. Every so often Floresta reveals an adorable lineup of doughnuts featuring fully edible versions of various famous faces.
The latest doughnut duo is inspired by pudding-slash-dog character Pompompurin and his comrade in kawaii, Macaroon. The theme of the collaboration is summer and the ring doughnuts have been reimagined as inflatable pool toys that the couple are playing with in the sea. Both doughnuts feature adorable edible versions of the characters which look like they’re poking their head through the ring.
These special Sanrio collaboration doughnuts will be available in select branches across Japan, check out Floresta’s website for a full list of shops where the doughnuts can be bought! If you can’t make it to one of these locations, a small number will also be shipped in the 'Pompompurin Summer Doughnuts Box' which can be ordered online.
