Thanks to the new Sailor Moon movie, fans of the classic series are even more spoilt than usual in Japan. Apart from snazzy watches inspired by the anime and manga protagonist, a new Sailor Moon pop up cafe is hitting Japan’s major cities with super cute menu items based on the characters.

There’s been plenty of amazing Sailor Moon cafes in Japan before and each one has proved incredibly popular. This year’s edition has a whole host of magical dishes including mains, desserts and even character-themed drinks.

Japan’s Sailor Moon Cafe 2020 - 2021

Mains

The mains include highlights like Minako's Love and Beauty Curry.

And a seafood pilaf with a suspiciously recognisable mask motif.

Desserts

But the desserts are where there prettiest Sailor Moon menu items can be found.

Some of the most famous Sailor Moon motifs have been made into desserts, such as Luna in black sesame seed doughnut form, and the ‘Moon Crisis Mille Crepes’.

And a Chibiusa pudding sandwich.

As well as various parfaits.

Drinks

There’s colourful and refreshing sparkling drinks inspired by the Sailor Guardians.

And some soda jellies too.

There’s even pots of tea themed around certain characters seen in the series.

Original merchandise

But any pop up cafe wouldn't be complete without a massive selection of exclusive goods to serve as a memento.
