To celebrate the upcoming spring cherry blossom season of 2021, Suntory Yamazaki Whiskey is set to release a special limited edition sakura themed Hibiki Blossom Harmony blend.
The drink itself is a development of Suntory’s popular malt whiskey ‘Hibiki’, which is to be blended in sakura tree wood barrel. Hibiki Blossom Harmony will be the first in the Suntory Harmony brand to be finished in sakura wood barrels.
Due to the sakura wood aging, Hibiki Blossom Harmony features an indulging scent reminiscent of cherry blossom. The taste is mellow and harmonious, and the rich lingering aftertaste will leave you feeling refreshed.
The packaging is adorned by a hundred illustrated flowers which are accented by glossy reds, light pinks and greens.
The ‘Hibiki’ drink range is the Suntory’s highest premium blended whiskey, which was released in 1989 to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the founding of the company. The drink was developed by revisiting the goal of the founder and first master blender of Suntory, Shinjiro Torii, which was to create western-style drinks that would suit the delicate taste of the Japanese people.
Hibiki Blossom Harmony blend has been created to meet the demand for whiskey gifts, and will be available for a limited time period.
The drink will be released nationwide from the 25th May 2021, and will be available at participating retailers in bottles of 700ml (43%) for 8,000 yen.
