Doraemon sweets return with cute expressions perfect for cherry blossom viewing season
As tough as the demon slayers portrayed in Kimetsu no Yaiba may be, the main characters all have their cute side too. This aspect is perfectly captured in the adorable series of wagashi released by Tabemasu. They specialise in traditional Japanese sweets inspired by various popular characters, and their collection of Demon Slayer-themed treats are particularly sweet.
For their first release of 2022, a fan favourite character will be appearing for the first time. Despite his popularity, Inosuke has never featured before, so now he will be starring alongside his fellow demon-slaying pals, Tanjiro and Zenitsu.
The sweets are made of nerikiri, a type of wagashi which can be moulded, coloured, and carved very easily. This makes it the perfect choice for character-inspired treats that boast plenty of detail and charm. Even little details such as Tanjiro’s earrings and scar have been faithfully recreated.
Each one has a different flavoured filling. Tanjiro is chocolate, Zenitsu is custard and Inosuke is milk flavour.
They come individually, but the trio look so cute together that you'll want to collect them all.
The sweets will be found in the chilled dessert section of Lawson convenience stores all over Japan from 11th January 2022, and will cost 285 yen each.
