Of all the cool and cute Valentine’s Day treats being released in Japan this year, fans of pop culture are particularly spoilt, with chocolates inspired by various franchises and characters. This includes a Demon Slayer cake, and even a Tokyo confectioners is releasing a Pokemon-inspired box of chocolates.
Last year’s set focused on the creatures from Pokemon Red, Green, Blue, Gold, and Silver. But this time around they’ve added Pokemon from throughout the series, including the newest ones revealed in 2019.
The large box of chocolates includes chocolates based on fan favourites like Pikachu, Eevee, Snorlax, Ditto and more. There’s also varied fillings and flavours such as salted caramel and fruits. There’s fifteen in the box and it costs 2160 yen (smaller boxes are also available).
Apart from the classic box of chocolates for Valentine’s day, you can also surprise your Pokemon training partner with a super cute tin of six sweets, including mini cream puffs and chocolate crunch. The design of the tin is adorable, featuring a sleepy Pikachu, and it will set you back 1200 yen.
Another tin on offer is inspired by the ever-popular Eeveelutions and stars all of them on the lid. It also has six sweets inside, including romantic additions like heart-shapes and pink chocolate. This set costs 1080 yen.
These sweets can be bought online from Yahoo shopping, or MeineRollen stockists (department stores etc.).
