Last autumn, Disney and Cafe Company Co. opened a new venue called ‘Disney Harvest Market Cafe’ in Japan. Apart from being a character-food wonderland for fans of the animation studio, this exciting addition to the themed cafe scene also promised to be a healthy option for Tokyo diners.
All menu items that appear are guaranteed to be less than 600 calories per plate, contain 2.5g of salt or less, less than 30% fat in regards to calories, and have zero trans fat.
Thanks to these standards, the initial opening of the cafe received a positive online response from customers. From this month, the cafe revealed six colourful new dishes, and three beverages for fans to enjoy, all starring Mickey Mouse and his friends.
Mickey appears in a tomato, chicken and kale pomodoro spaghettini, with his ears and shorts cleverly made from the ingredients.
His iconic head shape is also used as a motif for a chirashi sushi dish full of seasonal vegetables.
Donald Duck’s top half stars in a tandoori burger.
His bottom half can be spotted in the mackrel and vegetable conchiglie.
The humous dip and vegetables is inspired by Pluto the dog.
For desserts there’s a nod to Minnie Mouse’s spotty outfit with a matcha and citrus pancake.
Lastly, there’s three new ‘Harvest Squash’ drinks to choose from, filled with different fruit and healthy ingredients like ginger and mint.
The Harvest Market Cafe’s full menu is available on their website, where you can also reserve a table.
