Who says you can't enjoy katsu at home without the fuss and mess of preparing and frying ingredients?
On June 20th, 2022, Japan's Arkland Service Holdings, Co. will begin selling 「うまさ本物。かつや全力ロースカツ」 umasa honmono Katsuya zenryoku rōsu katsu (Tasty like the real thing. Katsuya's best effort pork loin katsu), the second offering in their frozen foods lineup.
This new product is made by the pork katsu specialty restaurant chain Katsuya and developed "in pursuit of deliciousness." Each piece weighs approximately 115 grams (4.2 oz), and will be available for sale to members of the co-op who are on Katsuya's home delivery route from June 20th, 2022.
The problem with conventional frozen cutlets is the sogginess and flaking of the breading caused by microwave heating. In order to solve this problem, Katsuya's R & D division conducted numerous prototypes and developed the industry's first technology to keep katsu crisp outside and juicy inside just like freshly fried katsu!
Furthermore, the cooking method requires no preparation or re-frying. By simply microwaving or defrosting naturally, you can enjoy the fresh taste of Katsuya's pork loin katsu without wasting any time.
If you prepare some beaten egg, onion, mentsuyu, and mitsuba at home, you can easily arrange it into "Katsuya Pork Loin Katsu Bowl" without using oil, etc.
Ever since opening its first restaurant in Sagamihara City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Katsuya has specialized in tonkatsu and prided itself on delivering quality katsu dishes to customers for nearly a quarter century.
