Japanese Twitter user シカクガング Shikakugangu (@shikakugangu) develops visual toys as a hobby.
When he posted a video of his handmade toy on Twitter, it received a huge response.
The toy reproduces the motions of a menacingly approaching cat, and creates quite the surreal impression. Here it is:
"Here's a 'menacingly approaching cat' toy that I made in a drunken stupor."
You can almost imagine this cat saying:
"Huh? Wanna piece of me, hooman?"
A menacing cat, its back arched in a threatening pose, is approaching very quickly! It's a very clever and funny idea. Not bad for something done "in a drunken stupor."
In fact, this kind of cat step has become famous in the Japanese corner of the Internet and is known as the やんのかステップ yannoka suteppu (literally, "the 'wanna piece of me?' step"). You'll find more examples if you search the hashtag #やんのかステップ.
Many people who saw the post left comments such as:
Hats off to the artist for the quality of his work. If you'd like to see what he's capable of when he's sober, visit his Twitter account here.
