Try Making the Japanese Ancient Craft Kurumi-E Yourself
An international award-winning artist in Japan is crafting entire worlds that you can wear around your neck.
Satoshi Tomizu crafts glass spheres that are actually small enough to be worn as pendants, as part of his Space Glass series. Flakes of gold, air bubbles, colored glass, and opals are all used to sculpt these extravagant universes whose extraordinary contents truly make us feel small, despite their size!
On his website, Tomizu writes that the pendants are light and difficult to scratch up, so no maintenance is required. While it sounds like they would make an awesome gift for anybody, they are particularly incredible to look at in these magnified pictures. His online store is currently out of stock, so for now you can just admire the amazing design and craftsmanship behind these galaxy amulets. Following that is a video that shows the sculpting process.
Enjoy!
