Art is a powerful means of expression, and collaborating with other artists can allow for different approaches and perspectives you might not otherwise have on your own.
Toronto-based Canadian artist Ruth Oosterman and her 3-year-old daughter Eve are the creators of many unique and beautiful works of art. The mother-daughter pair work seamlessly together, with Eve first doodling on a piece of paper, then Ruth adding paint to finish the piece.
When Oosterman first wrote on Bored Panda about her collaborative artwork with the then-2-year-old Eve, she said: “I try to work quickly and let imagination and play take root into the painting rather than taking it too seriously, this way I can encourage Eve’s contribution without making it too ‘grownup.’ As Pablo Picasso said, it can take ‘but a lifetime to paint like a child.’ I feel so blessed that my daughter can remind me once again what it is to paint like a child by letting me see through her eyes.”
We love the collaboration, but we must say Eva’s pieces are absolutely lovely already!
