Legendary Olympian and speedster Usain Bolt finally meets Pikachu. With puns, lightning speed, and each having tons of Japanese fans, it seems like a natural collaboration and it finally happened.
The Japanese for "Bolt" is ボルト (boruto) as well as "volt", which means that is quite easy to make puns between Pikachu's electric attacks and Bolt's name. Juu-man Boruto, one of Pikachu's signature attacks means “100,000 volts, or the “Thunderbolt” attack in Pokémon context.
The short Pokémon commercial shows the two battling in promoting the game Pokemon Sun and Moon, as well as adding to Bolt's growing resume of Japanese commercials.
