Why opt for ordinary toast when you can start the day off with a slice of bunny-shaped bread loaf instead? Newly open since March 2nd, Bakery Usagi-za Lepus in Shin-Kōenji, Tokyo has taken Japanese Twitter by storm with exactly that — adorable bunny bread loaves that let you bite into a kawaii version of the usual breakfast staple.
The bakery only bakes about 24-32 bunny loaves a day, and when Japanese Twitter user @cocomademoII shared her joy of getting her hands on one, her post was soon flooding with people wanting one for themselves too.

Needless to say, the bakery was pleasantly surprised at their sudden boost in popularity (and only a week after their grand opening at that), but also warned future customers of the limited supply of the bunny bread. Getting to the store early in the morning won’t guarantee their availability, as only 8 loaves are baked in the morning, and 8 more at 11AM, 3PM, and 5PM, respectively, throughout the day. These times may vary as well.
But if anyone is lucky enough to buy a fluffy loaf of bunny bread, they’ll be able to get one for 300 yen (US$2.60). The bakery is only a 5-minute walk from Shin-Kōenji Station, and with an affordable price and easy accessibility, it’s only a matter of time that Bakery Usagi-za Lepus will be inundated with eager customers.
