Last month Kit Kat Japan released the first ever ‘ruby’ chocolate bar, a naturally pink creation made from ruby cacao beans. For now, Nestle own exclusive rights to the new chocolate and Japan’s Kit Kat Chocolatory is the only outlet where you can get your hands on it.

This month in honour of the most romantic day of the year, the second ruby chocolate product has been revealed. Perfect for these wintry nights, the world's first hot chocolate made from the new ruby chocolate.

The hot chocolate was available from the Kit Kat Chocolatory's cafe located on the second floor of the Ginza main store.

The café has also received a very pink ‘ruby’ makeover.

The hot chocolate came with a stick of the coveted Ruby Kit Kat itself resting on the saucer. The cocoa is surprisingly viscous and has a sweet and fruity flavour. At 1000 yen not including tax, it was a pretty pricey beverage, but I guess that's the price you pay for world firsts.

Nestle only have exclusive rights to the chocolate for six months, after that other companies will also be able to unleash their naturally pink chocolate creations on the world. Until then, chocoholics keep an eye out, Kit Kat Japan may have more surprise ruby chocolate products to be unveiled!
