Fans of Studio Ghibli in the U.S. will have a chance to board the Cat Bus and ride to the theater once more, as the beloved film My Neighbor Totoro will be celebrating its 30th anniversary with a three day return to theaters. Debuting in Japan in April of 1998, the fantastical romp helped introduce larger audiences to the work of legendary director Hayao Miyazaki in a tale that has stood the test of time thanks to its charming style and fantastical feel. Thanks to Fathom Events and GKIDS, the classic animated film will be returning to theaters September 30th, October 1st, and October 3rd.

My Neighbor Totoro follows other anniversary theatrical releases by Fathom Events and GKIDS such as Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke. As with those releases, the film will be screened with both subtitled and dubbed versions available depending on the date (September 30th and October 3rd for the dubbed version, and October 3rd for the subtitled).

The film will be shown in over 700 theaters across the U.S. as part of Fathom Events and GKIDS’ Studio Ghibli Fest 2018, and local listings can be checked at Fathom Events and GKIDS. Spirited Away and Castle in the Sky tickets can also be purchased for their theatrical re-releases later in the fall.
