The brand Botanist actually makes hair and body care products, but they’ve crossed over into cafe territory with their set-up in the trendy haven of Harajuku. The cafe is known for their super Instagrammable drinks and desserts, that also claim to have detoxing, beautifying effects among other health benefits, thanks to the use of superfoods and fresh ingredients.
They keep the menu fresh too by changing it on a seasonal basis, their spring 2019 menu looks as delicious and aesthetically pleasing as ever. But most joyous to behold is the vegan sakura burger.
Vegan Sakura Burger Found in Tokyo
Vegan burgers are generally quite hard to find in Tokyo, with just a few trusted outlets, but here is a vegan burger that not only looks incredibly tasty but will also let those with dietary restrictions enjoy the seasonal cherry blossom hype alongside everyone else.
The soy patty is topped with fresh vegetables and vegan cheese, the sakura-pink buns are naturally coloured with sweet potato. The sauce is also naturally coloured with beets to add another spring hue into the mix.
The cherry blossom inspired burger isn’t the only option either, all of the seasonal items are vegetarian or vegan, with items clearly marked as vegan, vegetarian or gluten free, which is somewhat of a rarity in Japan.
Spring smoothies such as the Smoothie Bonbon Sakura x Berry look particularly ostentatious and should satisfy anyone’s sweet tooth.
