If you're into anime and manga, then you've probably seen your share of cute characters sporting nekomimi (cat ears). You may have even seen a few of them working in a maid cafe (Faris Nyannyan in Stein's:Gate, for example). For many people, maids sporting cat ears (or even, as we've recently seen, fox ears and rabbit ears) rate very highly on the kawaii scale.

So then, maybe it's only natural that somebody would eventually call on the most famous catgirl in Japan, Hello Kitty, to spin her magic in a maid cafe. Of course, she would only choose the gold standard of maid cafe quality, @home cafe (@ほぉ~むカフェ) in Akihabara.

Fortunately for maid cafe and Hello Kitty fans, the collaboration will continue for over two months between January 21st and March 29th.

Hello Kitty x @home cafe Collaboration Cafe

Although @home cafe already collaborated with My Melody and Cinnamoroll in 2018, and Pompompurin in 2019, for the Olympic year 2020, Sanrio is bringing in the top star Hello Kitty to mark the occasion.

As you can tell from these cute drawings specially made for the project, the interior will be specially decorated with illustrations on a pink, yellow and Gingham check background. Of course, you can also count on special collaboration menu items and goods too.

Collaboration maid costumes

During the cafe, the @home cafe maids will be dressed in special outfits designed in the image of Kitty and Mimmy:
