A man who had earlier this month tested positive for the novel coronavirus and declared he would spread it has passed away (March 18th) in Gamagori City, Aichi prefecture, Japan, the Sankei News reports.
The unidentified 57-year-old man received positive coronavirus test result on March 4th after learning his parents, who he lived with, were infected. The hospital gave him orders to stay at home until they could locate a proper medical facility for him to be treated at, but instead he took a taxi from home and visited an izakaya (Japanese pub) and Philippine hostess club. Before leaving home he told a family member “I am going to spread the virus.”
Although asymptomatic, police were called when the manager of the hostess bar heard him talking about his positive test results, and the man was taken to a medical facility. On March 12th, a female employee of the hostess bar was found to be infected with the coronavirus. The man was subsequently investigated by police in regards to obstruction of business.
No cause of death has been stated yet, although the man is said to have had a chronic illness even before being confirmed as infected with the coronavirus.
