Floresta Doughnuts is a chain which started in Nara prefecture and specialises in organic doughnuts. The shop became known for their adorable animal shaped doughnuts, and thanks to their popularity, Floresta can now be found throughout Japan.
But just when you thought their creature creations couldn’t get any cuter, they started teaming up with one of the leading companies in kawaii, Sanrio. The creators of Hello Kitty and Gudetama have lent the likeness of several of their characters to Floresta doughnuts, including My Melody and Cinnamoroll. But we were yet to see Sanrio’s most famous face until now.
Hello Kitty is making her first appearance as a Floresta doughnut, and fittingly for her cute image, the doughnuts have a pretty floral design.
There’s two doughnuts to choose from. One of Hello Kitty herself, perched on top of a ring doughnut with pink icing and dried strawberry flowers.
The other is Hello Kitty’s sister Mimmy on a purple iced doughnut with the same dried strawberry topping.
The doughnuts cost 450 yen each (not including tax) and each one is carefully made by hand so there are only limited amounts available.
Check out Floresta’s website for a list of branches where you can buy these feline inspired treats (some stores will stock them from 1st May and some from 7th so please check carefully). For the first time, you can also order this Sanrio collaboration product online in a set of four (preorders open now), so even self-isolating and social distancing can't stop you enjoying adorable character sweets!
