This happy hamster munching on a pea shoot is too adorable for words

We don't need to tell you how cute hamsters can be. Whether you've taken one (or more) into your home or simply enjoy the vicarious pleasure of watching the social media feeds of those who have, hamsters are simply entertaining without even trying.

Case in point: This little fella called Paru posted by Twitter user @gsm_iham2. Some of our readers may recall seeing him looking comfy on a bean bag a few months ago. Now, it's lunch time, and it looks like Paru's getting one of his favorite treats: pea sprouts. Of course, tiny as he is, he can only handle one sprout at a time...

Paru's Tweet in which he posted the four images above has 48,400 likes and nearly 9,800 retweets at the time of writing:

"His face when I gave him a pea sprout was really happy."

Many of the comments agreed:

  • "The second and fourth photo really looks like he's smiling"
  • "Paru's mouth is so cute. At first, I thought he was eating a strawberry."
