If you've ever gone through Tokyo Station or stopped by a gift shop at any other major station in the Tokyo area, chances are you've seen Tokyo Banana. These sponge cakes shaped like cute little bananas and filled with banana cream have been around since 1991 and are very popular with foreign tourists and domestic tourists alike.
Tokyo Banana has already come out with countless variations and flavors so far, but now, they've taken a big step forward. The self-professed "most popular souvenir sweets in Japan" has teamed up with one of the most internationally recognizable Japanese game properties: Pokémon.

This new product lineup called "Pokémon Tokyo Banana" will feature the likeness of many popular Pokémon in an ongoing series.
The first one up to bat is none other than Pikachu. After all, what better way could there be to kick off a collaboration with a cute yellow cake than a cute yellow Pokémon.

There are a total of six different adorable Pikachu patterns, and if you're very lucky, you may even discover a female Pikachu with a heart-shaped tail. They're very rare, so finding one will surely bring a smile to your face!

Price and Availability
These Pikachu Tokyo Banana will first become available in limited numbers in 7-Eleven convenience stores nationwide, beginning in the Tokyo area from November 21st, then gradually moving on to other regions (see schedule below).
A package of two costs 291 JPY.

Moreover, from December 10th, 2020, "Pokémon Tokyo Banana Tokyo Station" will open in the HANAGATAYA Tokyo South Walkway of Tokyo Station, where you'll be able to buy them at any time.
