On November 18th 1928, the beloved character Mickey Mouse has made his screen debut in Steamboat Willie, the world’s first animation with music and sound effects.

Mickey Mouse had several birthdays applied to him; however, November 18th , 1928 has been established as his birthday after Dave Smith, who is the founder of Disney Archives found out that the animation Steamboat Willie is when the "true" Mickey Mouse first appeared.

In 1940, Mickey appeared in Fantasia, an animated film that consists of only music and animation. Mickey is also the first character to have a star on the Hollywood Boulevard Walk of Fame in L.A.

 

Mickey became the first animated personality and had his star engraved on the Walk of Fame on the 13th of November, 1978.

This year, to celebrate all these happy events, Tokyo Disney Resort also released a special movie on their Official YouTube Channel.

Along with that, many goods and items that feature the world’s most popular and beloved character will be available in the Disney stores, too.
