Watch 2020 tail off and 2021 rise in ascension with a fantastical view of the new year’s first sunrise at Kobe’s Mount Rokko.
To welcome in the new year Rokko Cable Car will be holding an extra special early morning cable ride to the top of the mountain so that viewers can witness the first sunrise of 2021.
For those wishing to take in the view of the first sunrise from a more grounded location, the observation deck adjacent to rokko Sanjo Station will remain open.
In addition to all the early morning sunlight fun, Rokko Garden Terrace’s take-out menu will be on sale throughout the night from New Year’s Eve to New Year’s Day. The all-night menu is perfect for enjoying the last hours of 2020 before the celebrations of the New Year begin.
Rokko Cable Car Early Morning Special Operation
The following schedule is unique to the early morning of January 1st 2021.
The early morning cable cars will run at:
6:00am
6:10am
6:25am
6:40am
6:55am
Following that, cars after 7:10am will revert to Rokko Cable Car’s normal operation schedule.
One Way Cable Car Fee
Adults: 600 yen
Children 300 yen
Round Trip Cable Car Fee
Adults: 1,100 yen
Children 550 yen
The Observatory will open from 6:00am on 1 January 2021 ( NOTE: The Observatory's TENRAN CAFE opens from 11:00am to 19:30pm), whilst the Rokko Garden Terrace will remain open all night from 31 December 2020 to 1 January 2021.
