Levi Strauss Japan celebrates Pokémon’s 25th anniversary with its Levi’s x Pokémon lineup

To celebrate the iconic world of Pokémon's and this year's 25th anniversary, Levi's® presents the colorful '90s-inspired Levi's® x Pokémon collection.

Summary of lineup

Inspired by the animated series Pokémon, the collection features Levi's® denim, tops, bottoms, fleece, t-shirts and accessories, featuring graphic prints of popular Pokémon characters and the Kanto region forest. Notable items include a '90s-style vintage-fit trucker jacket and 551™Z Authentic Straight Jeans in stonewashed indigo, both with oversized Pikachu panel patches and electric type Pokémon imagery. Another fun item is the set-up of the 551™Z Authentic Straight Jeans with the eye-catching Vintage Fit Trucker Jacket, which features an all-over print of many Pokémon and the forest design of the Kanto region. The typical Levi's® back patch that comes with the apparel features the Pokémon logo, the original monster ball tab with a red and white monster ball design, and the buttons are also stamped with Pikachu and monster balls.

The collection will also feature graphic T-shirts featuring Ash and Misty from the Pokémon anime, as well as Pokémon. For fans of Misty, there will be a line of shorts and tank tops that pay homage to her look, since she wears them in the series. Accessories include the red and white trucker hat that Ash wears in the series, and a Pikachu knit beanie with yellow, three-dimensional Pikachu ears. You'll also find a gym bag printed with Pokémon from the Kanto Forest, a monster ball crossbody bag, and a mini pouch with a Pokémon shaped carabiner.

The Levi's® x Pokémon collection will be available at Levi's® stores nationwide and Levi's® official online site from Monday, February 15, 2012.

So to have the opportunity to create a collection with so many iconic Pokémon and characters was a really special experience. This collection is a very emotional one that respects and celebrates the world of Pokémon. It was a very cool experience to mix our icons and history with theirs. It was nostalgic, optimistic, and a bit of an escape from reality.
