Japan Invents Drinkable Onigiri Rice Balls To Go
Hamaotome (浜乙女), the seaweed, rice toppings, and sesame seeds manufacturer, has teamed up with the popular series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba for a new onigiri nori collaboration.
The new product, Kimetsu no Yaiba Salted Onigiri Nori, had its release in late March, and it comes in four patterns that feature our beloved characters from the series.
The characters include Kamado Tanjirō, the main protagonist of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, his sister, Nezuko, his travel companions: Agatsuma Zen'itsu and Hashibira Inosuke, but also the Hashira (Demon Slayer Corps).

The products also come with original stickers (15 types in total), and the package designs are mind-blowing.
My personal favorite is the one featuring Tanjirō eating an onigiri.
The stickers also include two rare ones, and if you plan on collecting them all, you will discover a connection between the patterns.
What is Shiotsuki Onigiri Nori?
The term onigiri (おにぎり) means rice ball in Japanese, while shio-tsuki (塩付) is the term for salted, and nori (のり or 海苔) is a type of dried seaweed typically used in Japanese cuisine. Japanese people often use it to wrap the onigiri balls or for makizushi (sushi rolls). I also like to eat it as a snack as it is a healthier option, and it tastes magnificent.
Hamaotome’s Salted Onigiri Nori has salt on one side of the seaweed, reason why the rice balls are richer in flavor.
That way, you won't need to add any salt to the rice either, and the package also comes in a resealable design, so it makes it easier to carry around when going to picnics, for example.
