You can find quite a few bowls of ramen in Japan that have obtained Michelin's coveted Bib Gourmand status (including, of all places, a used car dealership!), but it's not every day you can take that bowl home with you. Fortunately, Soranoiro, a ramen restaurant listed in the Michelin Guide Tokyo's Bib Gourmand for three consecutive years, is making a version of their famous Vegan Tantanmen available for instant packages to cook at home!
Soranoiro is teaming up with vegan meal kit maker Purple Carrot for a second time (following up on last year's popular shoyu ramen release) to recreate the flavor of their popular Vegan Tantanmen for at-home meals.
The 100% plant-based kit uses veggie bouillon and soy sauce sauce, spiced with gochujang (red pepper paste) and chili oil, but sweetened with maple syrup as a special ingredient, and fragrant with plenty of sesame paste, giving it a deep flavor. The specially made noodles are known for a balance of smoothness and firmness, yet crunchy with a cashew nut texture.
