Shinjuku’s Isetan department store has announced an event called Taisho Roman Hyakkaten DX from July 28th to August 2nd. From antique kimono, to modern clothing and furniture, there will be many fashion items in a modern retro style that celebrate the Taisho Roman aesthetic of Japan's Taishō Period (1912-1926) .
Three shops--Poniapon, Kurashiya, and Tenfu no kuni will be collaborating together for this special Taisho Roman Kimono event, with each displaying unique items.
Poniapon Kimono 77,000 yen
Kurashiya Kimono 22,000 yen, Obi 46,200 yen
Tenfu no Kuni, Kimono 132,000 yen, Obi 33,000 yen
As a plus, several of the items will feature designs by special artistic ambassadors for the event have been assembled, including manga artist Moyoco Anno (Hatarakiman, Sakuran) and Miki Katoh, a Japanese artist who specializes in kimono art (and generously designed the banner for our website).
There will be many adorable and uniquely designed items in modern retro style that you don’t want miss!
