Introducing RE: BREAD, an eco-friendly beer made from would-be-wasted bread
Schick Japan K.K., which boasts the largest share of the wet shaving market in Japan, has announced the launch of Bulldog's Glass Razor in the Japanese market on August 27th at Loft and Tokyu stores nationwide. The Glass Razor is the world's first razor with a handle made of more than 70% recycled beer bottle glass. For those who don't know it, Bulldog is a men's skincare brand, launched in the U.K. in 2007 and currently sold in more than 30 countries around the world.
This product was conceived based on the idea of creating interest in sustainable production by associating beer, which is familiar to consumers, with razors.
The Glass Razor uses Schick's reliable 5-blade technology to provide a smooth, deep shave. The beautifully designed razor with its polished glass handle and recyclable metal stand will encourage customers to keep them out rather than hiding them in a drawer or cabinet. The razors, which come in two models, the original, with an aloe vera lubricating strip and one for sensitive skin with a baobab lubricating strip, were chosen by the GQ 2021 Grooming Awards in the Best for Facial Hair category.
Bulldog is the first men's skincare brand in the world to use eco-friendly packaging and has been actively promoting eco-friendly products. For example, it uses recycled materials for all packaging as well as plastic refined from Brazilian sugar cane for tube-packed skincare products. Bulldog's razor with a handle made of natural bamboo is sold and used in more than 30 countries around the world, including Japan.
The Glass Razor will finally be available in Japan from August 27th, 2021.
Features
Commitment to the environment
The world's first environmentally friendly razor with a handle made of more than 70% recycled glass from empty beer bottles. The use of colored glass, which is difficult to recycle, contributes to the environment. In addition, the screw-type detachable handle not only makes it possible to keep the razor clean by washing it, but since the handle and blade can be disassembled, they can be separated for recycling when you dispose of it. Moreover, the razor's plastic-free packaging is made with recycled cardboard.
Attention to function
The proven Schick technology behind the blade provides a smooth, deep shave. With 5 tempered steel blades, an edge trimmer, and a pivoting head, the razor is easy to use and gentle on the skin. The handle, made of recycled glass, has a frosted finish for a stable grip and the perfect weight to make it easy to grip, allowing you to control pressure on your skin for a smoother shave.
Attention to design
The color of beer bottles is retained, but the frosted finish gives it a jewel-like appearance. You'll want to stand it on your washbasin with the special stand made of recyclable metal. *The handle has been drop-tested and confirmed to be safe.
