While it's a tall order to find a bad photo of Kyoto's captivating scenery, Japanese photographer Usadanu (@usalica) has a certain way of capturing it that's as good as it gets.

In the past the talented photographer has snapped gorgeous shots of what people are calling a real life "Totoro's forest" and snow covered shrines. Now Usadanu has turned his camera lens to the beautiful koyo (fall leaves) that Kyoto is known for--and in this case a beacon of hope.

Usadanu recently visited Kyoto's Jingo-ji Temple, which is famous for its display of over 3,000 brilliant autumn leaves. This year, however, from November 1st to December 12th, the Central Japan Railway Company will be highlighting the lush foliage with an illumination display, meant to inspire hope and symbolize light in the face of the ongoing pandemic.

Usadanu's shots really capture the sea of color that brings the fall scenery of Kyoto into full swing, and makes it such a must-see attraction. While the pandemic has certainly been hard on everyone, the ongoing display certainly looks to be inspiring.
