Photographer captures stunning shots of Japan’s famous remote mountain village in snow
Japanese photographer Usadanu (@usalica) has gained quite a following for his stunning photography of Kyoto and its surrounding areas. In the past, the talented photographer has captured breathtaking shots of shrines blanketed in snow and in swirling seas of fireflies, and has even published a popular photobook.
Usadanu's latest set of photos showcase the gorgeous nature of Nagaoka Tenmangu Shrine. The shrine is one of many locations highlighted by JR (Japan Railways) Tokai's Hikari no Kyoto event, which adds a special shine to famous Kyoto autumn foliage viewing spots with traditional lantern illumination displays.
In particular, the combination of lights and brilliant fall leave colors looks spectacular when reflected upon the shrine's Hachijoga-ike Pond, which Usadanu captures perfectly!

The Hachijoga-ike Pond is already known as a fantastic spot to take in Kyoto's famous fall leaves, but the nighttime illumination doubles down on the natural beauty of the area.
The event will run until December 5th, with the pond's illumination display running from 5-8pm.
