Cat lovers know that felines are adorable however you look at them, but there is a special charm in looking at them from underneath a glass table. For one thing, you can see the underside of their paws and in particular their so-called ‘toe beans’ in great detail. If they’re sitting or lying down, you can also get a glimpse of their legs and bodies all squished up and extra cute.

For all these reasons and more, Japanese cat owner @jirosan77, who lives with five cats, invested in a glass table. All the owner has to do is lie under the table with a camera and wait for the perfect timing.

This photo set that was uploaded to Twitter this month proves just how adorable these shots can be, with each one seemingly cuter and squishier than the last.

The post portrays a veritable cat heaven, and it resonated with many fans of felines, gathering over 31 thousand retweets and 180 thousand likes.

But the photo of the cats lined up from above the table is pretty sweet too.
