An upcoming event in Saitama hopes to find furever homes for adoptable shelter cats. They’re doing this by bringing cats from shelters to interact with visitors interested in adopting them to their family -- all while inside a specially designed bus shaped like a cat.
The event is a collaboration between pet food brand Purina and Neco Republic, a shelter cat café operator that aims to reduce the number of homeless cats being put down by Japanese authorities to zero by February 22, 2022. They’re doing this by finding homes for shelter cats and raising awareness through cat-related products and events such as the upcoming “Shelter Cats from All Over Japan Purina Cat Bus Adoption Fair.”
The cat adoption fair will be held on December 4, 2021 from 12:00 to 16:00 at Cainz Asaka. On-site participation is free of charge and there will be preventative measures in place to help avoid the spread of the coronavirus. They will also be streaming the event online, which you can view in different time slots using the event’s streaming website.
