We've seen birds get quite intrigued by figures that resemble them and treat them just like their own feathered friends, but Sonny, a silver java sparrow in Japan, might be taking things to another level.
Sonny's owner (@suz_kinoko) recently shared a video of a miniature classroom setup they had made, featuring school desks and sparrow figures seated at them as if focused on a lecture.
When Sonny encountered the classroom and studious birds, he seemed to have a bit of a fight or flight crisis:
Sonny frantically looks around at his "classmates" and seems to be thinking "is this really happening?", perhaps having a bad flashback to boring classes as a young bird. It doesn't take long for Sonny to decide that he's not interested in a lecture and dramatically flies the coop, skipping class.
