Photographers Are Sharing The Beautiful Snowy End To A Special Cherry Blossom Season In Japan
In a seasonally appropriate celebration of art and natural beauty, The National Art Center, Tokyo and Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain will present British contemporary artist Damien Hirst's first major solo exhibition in Japan this spring. The exhibition, Cherry Blossoms, will feature 24-large scale paintings that highlight the iconic blossoms in gorgeous landscapes.

An accomplished artist with a career spanning over 30 years whose work has covered many themes, Hirst will be making his Japanese solo exhibition debut and tackling the sakura, the beautiful cherry blossoms that have become emblematic of beautiful spring scenery in Japan.
Hirst's exhibition appears to be showcasing the fleeting beauty for which sakura are admired in Japan, saying "the Cherry Blossoms are about about beauty life and death." The exhibition will feature large canvases, some with a height of over five meters and a length of seven meters, that allow guests to be fully immersed in a vibrant and blooming world of cherry blossoms in their full glory.
It's also fitting that the exhibition will be held at the National Art Center, Tokyo, which itself sits among rows of cherry blossom trees, giving visitors a chance to take in the scenery outside before enjoying Hirt's vision of the blossoms.
