As this year is the 30th anniversary of Sailor Moon, fans in Japan are being treated to a whole lineup of awesome events and special merchandise. There’s currently an exhibition going on complete with an amazing pop-up cafe, and even designer footwear brand Jimmy Choo has joined in the celebration with a take on the character’s iconic boots.
But if Jimmy Choo is a bit out of your price range, a gorgeous lineup of collaboration items from Anna Sui are also on offer this month. But they’re not available in store, this collection is actually stocked in a limited-time-only vending machine. The collection includes several items such as handkerchiefs and towels to choose from.
The gorgeous handkerchief designs combine both Anna Sui’s classic motifs such as roses and butterflies, with items from Sailor Moon such as the Spiral Heart Rod and each of the Sailor Scouts’ representative colours.
There’s also towels made in the image of an Anna Sui store, featuring Sailor Moon herself with Anna Sui-style butterfly wings.
The roses and Spiral Heart Rod image appears again in some towels with fasteners that are perfect to use as water bottle covers.
Two eco-bags are also on offer, that are just right for A4-sized items. Both bags feature a mix of Sailor Moon and Anna Sui motifs to create eye-catching and colourful designs.
The vending machine is located in Yurakucho station in Tokyo. As the map shows, it can be found near the Yurakucho line, by the D4 and D5 exits.
Sadly it will only be there until 3pm on 31st July, so you’ll have to be quick if you want to pick up some magical collaboration items.
