There's plenty of fantastic fireworks shows in Japan, but the spectacular display at Mie prefecture's Kihoku Lantern Festival stands out among even the best. While the floating lanterns are the highlight of the festival, it's hard to say that the Saiun Kujaku (Rainbow Peacock) fireworks in the background don't steal the show.
The festival was recently held on July 23rd, the first time in three years due to pandemic cancelations, and Japanese photographer Ruu (@lll_photo_) captured the perfect moment to remind us why the show is looked forward to by so many every year.
