Japanese wristwatch giant Seiko is releasing a new model for their SEIKO ASTRON NEXTER series to celebrate Los Angeles Angels and MLB star Shohei Ohtani’s record-breaking milestone of being the first player to achieve double-digit wins and double-digit home runs in a single season in 104 years.. The watch is scheduled to be released on November 11th for 308,000 yen in a limited quantity of 1,700, inspired by Ohtani’s uniform number 17.
With the sub-dial positioned at9 o’clock, Ohtani’s number “17” is laid out in the same font style as his uniform. There’s also the city code of Anaheim, California, the home of Ohtani’s team, The Los Angeles Angels on the beautiful watch face made with ceramics to make it more durable and scratch-proof.
Ohtani’s autograph printed in the back of the watch, as well as the serial number up to 1700, inspired by the team number of the two-way Japanese superstar All watches comes with a special display box. More details and order information can be accessed at the official site.
