I think most of us now realize that our smartphones can be both a blessing and a curse; it’s the hub of pretty much all the information you need during the day, but because of all that information, we become easily distracted. Who hasn’t wasted precious hours on Facebook or Instagram, looking at pictures of people you don’t even know just because you can?
Well now there’s a ring that can give you the much-needed distance from your phone when you don’t want to be distracted, but still lets you stay connected with the outside world (when you’re expecting a phone call, have set reminders, etc.).
This new technology/jewelry is called Ringly, and it’s absolutely gorgeous!
Crafted with pyramid-cut lapis gemstone and 18K matte gold plating, each gemstone is hand cut and uniquely beautiful.
The meanings behind each gemstone makes the rings even more one of a kind, as Christina Mercando, founder and CEO of Ringly told Mashable:
“All of our stones tell the story of moments in life where I wished I could feel a little less attached to my phone. Out to Sea was inspired by a fall boat trip, so I chose a deep blue lapis gemstone to remind me of the ocean that day. The lapis gemstone is pyramid-cut to highlight the flickers of gold in each stone.”

She goes on to say that “other women had a similar problem — feeling badly they were always out of reach, or anxiously tied to their devices. I wanted to create a solution that women would love to wear.”
Once you have the ring, all you have to do is connect it to the Ringly app (available for both iOS and Android devices) and customize who and what comes through. When you get a notification, the Ringly will softly vibrate and let you know.

Available in US ring sizes 6,7 and 8, the Ringly supports phone calls, texts, emails, calendar alerts, and apps including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Uber.
The Ringly might even be handy for when you forget your phone but remember to slip on your ring, just to know how many important notifications you received.
